Angel Academe invests in Bewica
We are pleased to have closed our investment in cyber-security platform Bewica, in a deal conducted 100% virtually in the midst of Covid. Founder and CEO Eva Berg-Winters pitched to AA in June and together we conducted a thorough but efficient due diligence process to arrive at a positive outcome for all parties.
Co-deal lead Jodie O’Keeffe, says: “For such an early stage business, Eva and the Bewica team were extremely well-organised and ready for investment. With the drastic increase in virtual working and business conducted online, cyber fitness is a major and growing concern for SMEs, so the timing felt right. Also, Bewica was developed in partnership with customers such as banks and insurance providers as a direct response to the growing threat of cyber crime for their own clients, so the product-market fit was another strong reason to invest. We’re excited to see what the future holds for Bewica and happy to be counted among their early supporters.”
